October 28, 2007 | Takeover of Max Müller completed, product extension and expansion

October 28, 2007

After having acquired the well-known manufacturer of cutting machines for the rubber and plastics industry, MAX MÜLLER, Metzner successfully completes the takeover process, thus extending its product range and continuing the company's expansion.

Neu-Ulm, 29.10.2007. Metzner Maschinenbau GmbH is further expanding its "Rubber and Plastics" business line following the acquisition of MAX MÜLLER (Hanover) in September 2007. In addition, Metzner is strengthening its market presence by taking over numerous MAX MÜLLER sales partners in Europe, Asia and Oceania. "We are pleased that our company network is continuing to grow and will thus offer many advantages to both Metzner and MAX MÜLLER customers," said Gerhard Rauch, Managing Director of Metzner.

MAX MÜLLER products have stood for excellent workmanship for decades and are still internationally valued and in demand due to their robust and high-performance design.

In May 2006, the traditional company MAX MÜLLER, founded in 1889, had to file for insolvency and was initially taken over by the engineering services provider Brunel before the company was transferred to Metzner on 01.09.2007. Brunel realized that the engineering products did not harmonize with the existing business model of the service company.

Before the insolvency, MAX MÜLLER generated a turnover of approx. 2 million euros and with this volume will effectively support the further development of Metzner. With this acquisition, Metzner is expanding its product portfolio to include the product groups of impact knife machines, mandrel cutting machines and eccentric cutting technology. In addition, the range of circular knife and travelling machines has been expanded. Metzner thus offers the market the broadest product range in the industry with all common processing methods for cutting rubber and plastics.

Nearly all MAX MÜLLER products will continue to be produced by Metzner in the future and will be further developed to the state of the art, so that there are several advantages for the customers of Metzner and MAX MÜLLER:

  • Production and further development of the proven MAX MÜLLER products by Metzner
  • The combination of Metzner and MAX MÜLLER offers a comprehensive product range and thus the optimum solution for cutting rubber and plastics
  • Competent service and spare parts supply for MAX MÜLLER products
  • International market presence in more than 25 countries
