Automatic just-in-time production of pneumatic and breaking system nylon tubes

Thanks to the Metzner nylon tube production systems, various pneumatic and brake hoses can be automatically cut to length, printed and coiled or deposited as required on a just-in-time basis. Despite the desire for the greatest possible standardization, manufacturers of trucks, buses, coaches, construction machinery and agricultural vehicles have to work with a large number of pneumatic components. This is where the Metzner system helps considerably.

In the first step, the machine automatically cuts the tubes to the required length. Material changes are carried out automatically according to the programming. An integrated printer and/or marker can then print or label the tubes as required. And finally, they are coiled and, if required, tied. An operator is not required for the entire process.

The advantages are obvious: lower production costs, maximum repeat accuracy, faster handling and also lower material costs, as the tubes can all be in the same color. After all, they are identified by their print or label and not by their color.

An example:

The production line in the picture in the second line on the left can produce 65 different tubes with a total length of 138 m | 452’9″ in just 225 seconds. All 65 tubes are accurately cut to length and of course printed with the company’s logo, a code and the individual serial number. When doing so, the nylon tube production system automatically performs 41 material changes. If it is necessary to bundle the material, the whole process takes 322 seconds in total. Of course, the number of tubes, the necessary material changes and the total length of the material can be adjusted upwards and downwards for your system according to your needs.
