ADVANTAGES OF AN AUTOMATIC WIRE STRIPPER
There is more about an automatic wire stripper than saving work time and money
An automatic wire stripper has more advantages over a conventional wire stripper than just saving time. One of the least considered advantages is that automation ensures consistent quality.
While the hand still works with millimeter precision when cutting, the accuracy of wire stripping is perhaps in the centimeter range. An automated wire stripper from Metzner, on the other hand, always works with an accuracy of 0.1 mm | 0.004″. Of course, this also saves on materials.
When several people work with conventional wire strippers, you also recognize a certain individuality of their products. The machine doesn’t have this problem. And that is a real advantage, e.g. when such strands are connected to form smaller cable harnesses.
In addition, the automatic machine can be operated immediately. It does not need to be trained as a person. The so-called recipes are developed and saved once. The operator then only has to select the recipe and the quantity and the machine produces the desired products.
Automation means also documentaion of product quality
How the product is handled after cutting and stripping depends largely on your processes and specifications.
The cut and stripped wire can be collected in a box and then manually transported by the operator for further processing. Alternatively, it can be processed automatically.
What this looks like depends on your specifications. For example, the wire can be wound automatically. Or it can be processed further. A system that consists of an automatic wire stripper and cutter and then welds a dozen strands into a cable harness in a specified time, for example, can also be realized.
No matter how far you take the automation of wire processing, one thing is always the same. Thanks to automated processing, you always have documentation of product quality, which is required in more and more production chains.
